We recently spent 4 nights in Cairo and made the decision to see Cairo with Ayman Ahmed as our guide, after a referral from a work colleague this decision was definitely one of the best we have ever made!
Ayman was a fountain of knowledge and answered our constant flow of questions with a smile and an evident passion for his country. He was always punctual, polite, and extremely professional.
I would highly recommend Ayman to anyone considering a trip to Egypt ~ I can honestly say that without Ayman as our guide our visit to Egypt would not have been as well planned and informative as it was.
Liz, Brett, Chris and nick from the United Kingdom (May 2009)
We booked Ayman from England by email, after finding him on the tripadvisor site. We were initially wary and unsure of how it would work out by doing things from this end, but Ayman exceeded our expectations in every way possible. He turned up on time at our hotel and we had a lovely day trip visiting the Giza Pyramids and sphinx and the Mohammed Ali mosque and Coptic Cairo and finishing at the khan el khalili market. Ayman was extremely informative and helpful and is certainly very well educated – he answered all our questions and explained many other little things, such as why there are no roofs on the houses! And why the balconies were painted different colors! - And many other local points of interest which are fascinating to learn. We found it very hot obviously, being northern Europeans, but that is where the air conditioned van came in, and we must say the driver was brilliant, an excellent driver in a crazy, mad city of constant beeping traffic – he knew exactly how to deal with it, and was the best driver we had out there, having sampled many taxis, with air conditioning that didn’t work (!!) and fast drivers who would have been at home on a race track! He was always there when we were feeling the heat, ready to take us to our next destination. We would recommend Ayman and his driver without hesitation to anyone who was unsure about booking from the internet before leaving for Egypt, and we really enjoyed his company on our day trip. Thank you again Ayman, shoukran, mashi!!!!!!
Thank you Ayman, for making it a trip of a lifetime for us all
Tim, Bonita and Joshua Koelker from the U.S.A (April 2009)
Seven of us spent two days with Ayman and his driver "President" Nasser. They picked us up off the NCL Jade in Alexandria port and then headed to Cairo. The traffic was every bit as insane as you read about. We spent about 3 hours at the museum with Ayman explaining the history and showing us the more important pieces. As others have said here, it would be easy to spend days at the museum and not know what you've seen without a guide. Ayman took us for lunch at a buffet that seemed to be popular with guided groups but the food was good. In the same complex was a place to buy cartouches, papyrus and perfume which the ladies in the group wanted. The guys tolerated the stop. We then toured the Citadel and mosque. Ayman spent a lot of time openly answering questions about the Muslim faith which was really helpful. Next up was an evening at the Khan el Khalili bazaar. We had several intrepid shoppers along that enjoyed the banter but I found the aggressive style of the vendors to be too much. We did our own haggling for a while but eventually asked Ayman for what we should be paying. He then took us to a friend's shop where we got good prices without all the BS of starting at 3 times the final price. Much less stressful we had dinner at one of the small restaurants with outdoor seating on the plaza. This is something I'd highly recommend. I never thought I'd eat stuffed pigeon but it was great. We also had good kababs, BBQ chicken and kofta avoiding the salads. We smoked hookah and did some people watching. We stayed out until about 9 pm when we were all fading fast. "El Presidente" and Ayman then drove us to the Havana Hotel (west of downtown) which turned out to be a good find. Getting in at 10pm made for a long day for us but much worse for our guide and driver who had set out for Cairo about 3 am that morning. Ayman and Nasser picked us up promptly at 7:30 am and off to Saqqara we went. Great tour there and then to the Giza pyramids and the Sphinx. Ayman arranged a 1/2 hour camel ride for us on the spot to view all the pyramids in a row. We paid $10 each which I thought was a great deal. The camel leader hit up the two dads for a tip but that was cool. We then drove back to Alexandria to tour the catacombs before meeting the ship right at 5:30 pm. It was great seeing the sites but the experience of time in Cairo was the highlight for our family. Seeing the living conditions, the traffic, enjoying the food all made the trip worthwhile. I had questioned whether to do an overnight excursion or one day in Cairo and one in Alexandria. No doubt the overnight with a small group was the right decision. Ayman and Nasser did a great job for us and really helped us to get a feel for the country and the culture. Looking back I wouldn't change a thing on how we did our excursion.

Michael and I have returned home from Egypt and wanted to send you an email to thank you very much for the wonderful tours you provided for us. The pyramids were fantastic and the day of touring Cairo gave us a great overview and history lesson. Your English was great and you truly tailored each tour to our specific requests. You were also sensitive to my being pregnant, which was very helpful. Having a separate driver was also a huge plus. Being able to jump out of the van and not worry about parking was a great time saver. We would highly recommend you as a tour guide to other visiting Egypt.
Alan and Rebecca carpenter from the U.S.A(February 2009)
We had a wonderful time, thanks to you, and again wish to express our appreciation. You provided a tour that exceeded our expectations. You were very informative/knowledgeable, very caring for our needs and you tailored the tours to our wishes. If you would like to use us as a reference, please do so. Thank you so much Ayman.
Jim, Cathi, Cassi, Calvin, John Nye & Travis from the U.S.A(December2008)
We want to thank you for the wonderful day we spent with you touring the antiquities of the Cairo area. Your expertise on Memphis, Saqqara and Giza was extraordinary and we so enjoyed our day. We will never forget your support and help regarding the lost passports. We hope that you will contact us if you ever make it to the United States. Rest assured we will give your name to any of our friends that plan trips to Egypt.
Happiness to you in 2009!
It was the first time my husband and I arranged our own tour in a foreign country, so we felt very insecure and did not know what to expect. What a pleasant surprise to have found such a wonderful guide by the name of Ayman. I just told him that we will be staying in Cairo for three days and he planned the trips for us.
He is very professional, very punctual and very caring and considerate. He treats you as if you are the only one that matters, is a very pleasant and friendly young man. We visited all the sights calmly and without rush. He shared his vast knowledge of Egyptology and archaeology with us, and did not hesitate to answer questions, which, I am sure he had to answer many times before. We really gained a much better understanding of Egypt.
Apart from all the ancient sights, the nicest thing for me was the introduction to the lifestyles of the farmers, carpet makers and food. He took us to buy shawarmas and eat it in a "restaurant" along a busy street, where we could experience yet another part of the Egyptian's horrendous traffic.
Although the trips were planned beforehand, he was lenient and patient and took us to a shop where I could buy some cartouches, specially made for my girls, shown us papyrus factory as well as a carpet weaver shop. And not to mention the dates and sweetest strawberries he bought for us along the way.
We had a wonderful time and enjoyed every moment of our trip. And all this we owe to Ayman, our new friend. I will never hesitate to recommend him to anyone who wants to visit Egypt, and we will always use him as our guide.
Haruko Yajima from U.S.A (January 2009)
I wanted to express my immense appreciation taking me to see numerous locations in one day (without being rushed!) in Alexandria. Thank you for your patience in being a great photographer at EVERY site, stopping to get special medicine when I felt nauseous, and even calling the Papyrus store to stay open after hours on our way back. Also, for patiently answering the questions for my following day personal itinerary and routes for Cairo. Furthermore, I appreciated you helping me from the beginning when you answered my numerous questions about Egypt even BEFORE I agreed to join your tour. I had contacted a significant number of tour guides and I can strongly say none would invest their valuable time and energy to answer each questions in detail. You go out of your way to ensure your clients' individual needs are met 200%, while carefully ensuring their well-being. You are professional, yet personable in a way that you make your clients feel as though they are guided around Egypt by an old friend (rather than being blatantly lectured and pushed from one site to another.) You sincerely care about your clients and make a tremendous effort for them to have a memorable experience in Egypt whatever their prospects are. Thank you very much for such a wonderful trip.

If you are going to Egypt, DON'T GO WITHOUT AYMAN! We had recently come back from our memorable and enjoyable trip to Cairo. We had Ayman Ahmed, as our tour guide, who was more than willing to share his knowledge with us about Egypt and its history. Within a short period of meeting him, we felt as though he was part of the family. He was an exceptionally fantastic guide, incredibly knowledgeable and has a GREAT personality. He helped us to bargain on our shopping trips and we came back really satisfied having saved quite a lot of money. We were able to see more than what we could have ever imagined as he had efficiently guided us through the highlights of the Cairo area. He attended to every detail to ensure our comfort throughout the trip and making it fun and educational at the same time. In Ayman's company, we never felt bored or tired as he was always there to cheer us up with his good sense of humor. He is a pleasant, jovial, very caring, and outstanding person. I would highly recommend Ayman, as he is a professional guide of the highest quality. For our next visit to Egypt, we would definitely not hesitate to call on Ayman not as a guide, but as a friend. We wish Ayman good luck and success in all his future endeavors.
Jonathan, Tracy, Olivia and William from The United kingdom (October 2008)
In October 2008 my family (myself, wife, daughter (11) and son (9) spent two days with Ayman Ahmed .On the first day we visited Memphis, the step pyramid and Giza and the pyramids. The second day we visited Coptic Cairo, the citadel, the souk and had a three-hour tour of the Cairo Museum. If you were planning to come to Giza and Cairo I would highly recommend Ayman. He is thoroughly professional shares his considerable knowledge of Egyptology in an engaging way, interacts with children well and understands when you need time on your own to explore the sights. He is open to discuss the broadest range of topics about ancient and modern Egypt. Ayman has a number of pre-set tours, however he will be flexible with these if there are different places you want to go or indeed if there are parts that you are not interested in. Ayman will openly tell you if there are cheaper ways of visiting sites than doing it with him. I would certainly recommend Ayman's services to significantly add to any trip to Giza and Cairo

Thank you again for a great 2 days in Cairo. We enjoyed it very much especially if it is with a guide as good as you are. I would definitely recommend you highly for everyone that wants to go to Egypt.
Philip Pennington and Sharon Phillips from Australia (August 2008)
I would like to express my gratitude and praise your excellent service and the overall tour experience, Everything you arranged was so well organized and punctual and made our few days in Cairo so easy and pleasant for us without us having to worry about getting around and seeing all sights ourselves, the whole tour experience was wonderful (including keeping the hawkers at bay, the air conditioned tour van and providing bottles of water) Even the pickup and drop off at the airport was stress free. Your expert archaeological knowledge and narratives of the each place we visited was so interesting and provided such a better understanding than we would ever have got from any book. I would not hesitate in recommending you to any future clients and I would be very happy to reply to any emails from prospective customers. (Please only give out my email address to customers if asked)
Once again, Ayman, Shazz and myself thank you so very much. We both wish you well for the future.
Anne and trung from Canada (June 2008)
I would like to thank you once again for a great time in Cairo. Trung and I were both so pleased with all of the information that you were able to share with us.In addition, we were especially thankful for your extra help in getting us the train tickets, and getting us hats, and taking us to the local store to buy food for the train, etc. We never expected that kind of hospitality, and we are very appreciative of it.
It was a pleasure meeting you, and I will certainly recommend you to friends. Thank you!
Joanna Fletcher and Robert Morris from United Kingdom (April 2008)
As a first timer to Egypt and to using a tour guide we were unsure as to what to expect but the guide we booked Ayman Ahmed, tailored an itinerary to suit us and the amount of time we had to spend in Cairo. He offered suggestions of things to do without being pushy, guiding us, but giving us the autonomy to spend as much or as little time at each location. Other tour guides that I contacted continually tried to enforce attractions that we really just were not interested in which I found frustrating.
An amiable and informative guide he was able to get us in to areas where other tourists were unable to go and always knew the best places for picture taking...Etc we would highly recommend booking for a reliable, informative and friendly guide who was very reasonable in terms of comparing prices.
Ellery, Karen, Rayna and Noah from Canada (January 2008)
We are a family of four who spent two days with Ayman in Cairo in January 2008. Ayman was a fantastic guide. He is incredibly knowledgeable about his country and its history. He is fluent in English and has a great personality. He related well with both the adults and the kids. We received just the right amount of information and spent just enough time at each place we visited. We saw all the sites we wanted to see in the time we had to spend in Cairo. We went to the pyramids in Giza, the Egyptian museum (he was invaluable there), Memphis, and Saqqara, the market and to Coptic Cairo. Ayman was flexible and helped us with everything, even buying Egyptian sweets and crossing the road in Cairo, which was quite a feat! Thank you Ayman, We will certainly recommend your services to everyone who is looking for a guide in Egypt.
Kirsty Connor, California U.S.A (December 2008)
My husband, sister and I toured Egypt in December 2007, including Luxor, Cairo and Alexandria. Ayman was our guide for the last part of our trip - Cairo and Alexandria. I heard about Ayman through the Trip Advisor site and we corresponded by email for a month or so before our trip, which allowed us to plan. Ayman was always quick to respond to emails, speaks excellent English, and was very professional and flexible to deal with. Ayman wasn’t available for the first part of our trip, but I wish that he had been able to accompany us on our whole trip. We are independent travelers and have backpacked many countries. Egypt is one country for which I would recommend using a good guide.
We used a number of other guides who spoke Basic English, and went through a rehearsed speech (very quickly) at each site, but Ayman really ‘gets’ the question. Since many of my questions were cultural and historical, rather than site seeing, that really helped. He really excelled on our trip to Alexandria, where he added an unscheduled stop at a patisserie (because it was in my guidebook) and kept the tour going until after dark because we were caught in a traffic jam! He also treated us to the best fresh fish lunch I have had anywhere, for a local price rather than the tourist prices we had been paying everywhere else. It was the same for buying goods at the Bazaar. You will save more money hiring Ayman than doing Egypt independently! I can thoroughly recommend Ayman for your Egypt trip (book early!).

My wife and I just returned from Egypt and as you remember, you were our Cairo guide for 2 days. We now realize how fortunate that we were to have you as our guide. Not only were you very patiently informative, you attended to every detail to assure that we were comfortable and felt safe. As first time visitors to Egypt, we were at first very apprehensive about many things. Because of your calming confidence, you soon put us at ease and we were able to relax and enjoy the experience. In the 2 days, we were able to see more than we imagined as you efficiently guided us through the highlights of the Cairo area. During our vacation we had a number of guides and observed many others as we toured the sights. They varied greatly in their presentations and English speaking ability. We would like you to know that you were BY FAR the best! Your knowledge and ability to explain, your kind and caring demeanor, your humor and attention to every detail were appreciated more that you could ever know. You made our lifetime dream of visiting Cairo the best that it could have possibly been. We have shared our pictures and experience with friends, family and co-workers. Many have expressed interest in repeating our tour. You can be certain that we will (and already have) ensure that they contact you to guide them. Once again, our most sincere thank you for making our trip so wonderful!
Christina Allen...U.S.A
Ayman was a terrific guide - we would not have seen nearly as many wonderful sites or enjoyed our trip nearly as much without him. He was extremely knowledgeable about every place we visited. More than that, he was always in tune with whatever we needed at the time, whether it was some extra rest time for my mom or an additional trip to a particular store to buy something we had settled upon as a gift for friends back home, he tailored each day to whatever was best for us. It was truly a custom-made tour! All of the sites we visited, the pyramids, tombs and temples, were made more fascinating by the background he gave us. We also felt comfortable asking any question about Egyptian culture and learned a great deal about modern Egyptian life from listening to his insights. He was great fun to be with and always looked out for us. I highly recommend him to anyone traveling to Egypt.
Shirley Allen...U.S.A
Ayman, you were so much more than a "guide." Yes, you're professional, very knowledgeable, reliable and fun to be with. But more than that, you watched out for my daughter and me the whole time we were there. From Cairo to Abu Simbel, we never felt like we were alone. Thank you for calling your friend at the bank and solving a debit problem procedure, for saving us a trip to the phone company, for going to the pharmacy for medication I'd forgotten and so much more. You told us to call you any time of the day or night with a question or problem and I'm afraid we did. We were able to set the itinerary and departure time each day or half-day .You arranged for a representative to pick us up at every airport and train station. In Luxor, we met in the evening to visit the town and the bazaar at no extra charge. Travelers who hesitate to tour Egypt alone will have a wonderful experience with you as their guide, Ayman. I thank you and recommend you most highly to anyone who wants to learn about the culture and treasures of Egypt. We had a terrific time!

If you have come to this site in search of a guide for touring Cairo...look no further. I met many people in my 2.5 weeks in Egypt and Ayman was the most honest, sincere, genuine person I met. Everywhere wife, my 2-year-old son and me went people who knew Ayman told us we were lucky and that he is a very kind person. Well...their words held very true. This guy is the best at what he does and will enhance your experience to Egypt with his vast knowledge, safe driver and multiple options for touring the area. Not to mention his customer first attitude. Have fun in Egypt
Sarah and Kathy...United States of America/Italy
Visiting Egypt, especially Cairo, without a guide is just foolish. Kathy and I scheduled 2 days with Ayman and they were a great introduction to our 2 weeks in Egypt. We had a private car for all locations (Pyramids, museum .etc). Knowing we would be visiting other sites, Ayman often reminded us of what we would be seeing in Luxor or Abu Simbel through pieces we saw in the Cairo museum or other historical events he covered. He was also patient enough to repeat information - the various gods, Pharaohs, and symbols can be a bit overwhelming the first day! We also visited the Alabaster Mosque, Coptic Cairo and few other places. It was a great experience and definitely needed to get the most out of our vacation there. We also bought Egyptian Sim cards for our cell phones (with Ayman's help), so Ayman was able to check in with us during the rest of our trip - to make sure everything was going well. IN ADDITION, he acted as liaison in my desperate search to visit Roman quarries on the other side of Egypt! Ayman was recommended to us by Kelsey - we are also tour guides in Rome - and there will probably be a few more Roman guides following in our path!"
Judy sauté'...United States of America
Ayman made Egypt magical. He is extremely knowledgeable and it was such an educational experience. There were 14 people in our group ranging from age 70 to my daughter who is nine. Ayman made the tour fun and exciting for all of us. He gave so much personal attention to each of us. We arrived from the States at 9:30pm. Ayman made sure there was a representative at the airport to pick us up and he was on the phone 10 minutes upon our arrival to make sure everything was going well and to fill us in on the next day's agenda. He caters to your every need and truly wants to make the experience a memorable one. Ayman will create the exact tour you want. He even will bargain for you at the markets. He saved us so much money because his motto is: Make a living not a killing. I highly recommend Ayman for your personal tour guide. When we go back to Egypt one day we will definitely use his services again.
Ed and Mel...United states of America
Ayman was our Cairo and Giza tour guide and he was the most personable, knowledgeable, and hospitable tour guide we ever had in our world travels. Ayman warmly welcomed us in his country and always took the time and initiative to explain all the different sights and history of Egypt with much enthusiasm. He also was so patient with us in teaching us a few words in Arabic. Learning the language made us closer to the warm and friendly people of Egypt. Not only were Ayman AWESOME, but also the people and country of Egypt! We will not hesitate to recommend him to our friends and relatives who wish to travel to Egypt. The next time we go back to Cairo we will definitely look him up not as our tour guide, but as our friend. Ed and Mel

We thought the two days we spent in Cairo were fantastic, your expertise as a tour guide was second to none. Your knowledge was outstanding and if it was not for you we would not have enjoyed the tour as much as we did. We were so impressed with all the arrangements and how you were always aware of our needs and made sure we were OK all the time. I would highly recommend your service to any and everyone visiting Egypt. Thank you for being such a fantastic guide. We hope to see you again on our next visit in the future.
Jackie Daile ...U.S.A. / Jordan
Ayman was our guide in Cairo. I would say that he is the best as He was able to add so many interesting bits of information to every exhibit and site that we went to and this made the whole experience of Cairo so much more interesting. Ayman is a prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, professional tour guide of the highest quality. Therefore, I would recommend him for a good tour around Egypt. Love you Ayman, thanks for every thing...
Melissa Francis...England (August 2005)
Hello, I am writing to tell you how much I enjoyed my tour with Ayman. I went on a tour with Ayman in August 2005 with my family and it was the best experience of my life. Ayman was both funny and professional .the tour was very well organized. I would recommend Ayman to anyone going to Egypt. I enjoyed every minute of the tour. He made sure people that spoke our language, which was a lot nicer to be able to talk to other people in the tour group, accompanied us. Thank you Ayman, I enjoyed my trip to Egypt very much!
Joanne...Malaysia (December 2005)
Greetings, I holidayed in Cairo, Egypt with my family last December 2005 and it were a truly enjoyable and eye-opening experience. Ayman, my guide, was professional and very knowledgeable. The fact that he has a great sense of humor too made the whole trip fun and entertaining as well. He made it very easy for people like me who are visiting Egypt for the first time to understand the different culture and appreciate the magnificent sights there better. I would definitely recommend him to my friends as he does not treat guiding as merely a job but is truly passionate about doing it well.
Jennifer Carson...United states of America (October 2004)
I am writing in reference to a guide that I had while I was on vacation with a friend in Egypt in October 2004. The guide I had in Cairo, Alexandria and other places was Ayman Ahmed. Ayman is a fantastic guide and I recommend him to anyone planning a trip to Egypt. Ayman brings the cities and sites alive, whether it is the ancient past or the past decade! He conveys information in a clear and concise manner and allowed us the time to go and explore on our own. Ayman is extremely funny and entertaining and made our trip one we will never forget, and are anxious to repeat I would whole-heartedly recommend him as a guide to anyone traveling to Egypt without reservation and He'll do it all for you. It is a trip you will always remember, and Ayman makes it the trip of a lifetime.
Gary Courtis...Australia
G’day. This is a quick message to give my full and very strong recommendation to use Ayman Ahmed as a tour guide whenever you are traveling to Egypt. My girlfriend and I traveled throughout Cairo and Alexandria with Ayman and found him to be second to none as a tour guide. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and willing to go that extra mile for us to ensure we got the maximum out of our trip. Ayman also has a full understanding of when to be there for you and when to allow you your own time to explore sites for yourself. We could not have asked for a better tour guide for our time in Egypt and it is without any hesitation that I would give anyone my wholehearted assurance that if you are traveling in Egypt then Ayman is the man to have by your side.
Kelcey from the United States of America (August 2004)
Hi there, I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the tour I took with Ayman's company. I was traveling through Cairo in August 2004 and was lucky enough to have Ayman as my guide. He was professional and very knowledgeable and added to the experience. The first day we went to Saqqara, Dahshur, and Memphis to see some of Egypt other pyramids, then on the second day headed to Giza to see the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx. I am a tour guide by trade as well and it was truly a pleasure to meet and be escorted by someone as knowledgeable and experienced as Ayman. I have recommended him to many of my friends and would certainly book tours with him again .Thanks again!
